Hunting with bows and arrows was an important kind of military sport in ancient China which was eharaeterized by multi-functions and comprehensiveness. It originated in the beginning period of human beings. Due to its practical value and entertainment function, hunting with bows and arrows had been very popular throughout the whole history either in the royal community or among common people. It has greatly influenced Chinese social civilization with its rich cultural eonnotations.
