日本自19世纪后半期迈入近代以来,因国际环境和国内情势的诸种因素,曾出现了数次较为明显的民族主义思潮。历次的思潮在缘起和表现形态上虽然不尽相同,但民族主义的基本性质却无甚改变。近代日本的民族主义思潮,既是本民族意识觉醒的强烈表现,同时又较多地体现为对本民族精神的夸饰,有时甚至是对本民族利益的过度诉求,极易染上褊狭和狂热的色彩,甚至走向危险的境地。

There have been several obvious nationalism thoughts in Japan because of the factors of the international environment and the domestic situation since the late 19th century. These thoughts have the same nature but different origins and representations. The contemporary nationalism thoughts in Japan are not only the strong expression of nationalism awakening, but also the over - flattery of native spirit, and even over - appeal for native benefit. Such thoughts result in often insularity and fanaticism easily, even dangerous circumstances.
