The Introduction and Evaluation to Eugenics Studying of PAN Guang-dan

潘光旦先生是中国近代著名的优生学家,他引入了西方优生学研究的理论和方法,利用中国的历史文献,结合中国当时的现实问题来进行研究。其研究及著述工作推动了我国早期的优生运动,促进了遗传学在社会中的应用,并在此基础上建立了一个指导人与社会持久位育的新人文思想。

Quentin Pan was famous eugenicist in modern China. He had studied eugenics by introducing the theory and method from the West, making use of the historical literature of ancient China, conducting the real—life problem of China. His studying and writing had pushed forth the early eugenic movement in China, promoted the application of genetics in society, and proposed an important new humanism thought.
