As of the end of November 2006, Chinese authorities concerned have approved 164 clean development mechanism （CDM） projects involving wind power, small hydropower, industrial energy-saving and garbage power, etc. Insiders said that the rapid development of CDM projects can not only promote reduction of pollutants, but also provide tremendous commercial opportunities. Relevant data showed that there were only 68 CDM project approved just before August.
