The design of a new take-up-motion, cutting and storing system for weaving of spacer fabrics is described. The characteristic problem is as follows: the spacer fabrics include fabric structures as the spacer, so-called crosshnks. In order to prevent the glass fibers of the glass-polypropylene hybrid yam from damage, the buckling of the crosslinks has to be avoided. The fabric is used as a preform for thermoplastic textile-reinforced composite modules.
