China's society and economy after adoption of two laws

今年3月16日，第十届全国人大第五次会议通过了两个重要的国家法律：《物权法》和《企业所得税法》。这两个法律将分别于2007年10月1日～2008年1月1日实行。这两部法律的通过，在我国政治和经济生活里具有里程碑的意义。

On March 16, 2007, the Fifth Session of the Tenth National People's Congress passed two important national laws, the Property Law and the Corporate Income Tax Law. The two laws will be put into execution on October 1, 2007 and January 1, 2008 respectively. The adoption of these two laws is a major milestone for China's political and economical life. The reporters' analysis concludes that the adoption of the Property Law shows that China starts to admit the existence of private ownership and private property legally, while at the same time maintains state-owned economy in control force. The Prop-erty Law also has the function to ensure Chinese enterprises'globalization development. The Corporate Income Tax Law complies with China's enterprise profit and national profit, and is a fair taxation arrangement for foreign-funded enterprises. In addition, it will also exert positive influence on the adjustment of industry structure. From now on China has started to embrace change in development mode.
