汉语成语翻译应注意的几个问题

Analysis of Chinese-English Translation——Questions in Chinese Idioms Translation

成语是在长期使用语言的过程中形成的固定词组或短语,具有浓厚的民族色彩。文章主要讨论了在把汉语成语翻译时主要应该注意的四个方面:译文的确切含义、词语民族特色、褒贬及语气等,以期真正做到“信、达、雅”以及“忠实、通顺”,准确地传递出成汉语成语中的独特内涵。

Chinese idioms are set phases created in the long course of communication, full of national hues. In this thesis, four facets in Chinese idioms translation are discussed, namly, accurate meaning, national hues, appraisement and tones, with the aim of illustrating the original meanings in Chinese idioms more clearly, accurately and elegantly with the English language, and fully realizing the transmitting of the underlying unique meanings.
