《颜氏家训》素以专著家训之祖而著名,因此人们往往从教育学的角度对之予以研究,从而忽视了它具有考世之资的文献学价值的一面。从文献学的角度出发对《颜氏家训》一书中反映南北朝时期学习风尚、士大夫风尚及其它风尚的材料进行研究,可以窥见当时在这些方面的世风。

Family Instructions of the Yan＇s has been famous for the originator of family instructions, so people tend to study it from pedagogy while neglect its value of textual research as documentary science. From this viewpoint, the study of materials reflecting the prevailing customs of learning, of literati and officialdom and others in the Northern and Southern Dynasties can help us to get a glimpse of some public morals in this respect at that time.
