Coherence in Translation

翻译就是把源文本介绍到目的文本中去,也就是说翻译与文本紧密相关。而文本具有连贯性的固有特性,为满足读者认知的连贯要求,翻译时必须注意在目的文本的不同层面上重建连贯。这样一来,译本读者就可以从根本上像原文读者一样来理解和鉴赏作品。

To translate is to introduce a target text from a source text, which means translation is closely related to the text. A text is characteristic of the fixed nature of coherence, so in order to satisfy the reader in the cognitive coherence, it is important to reestablish coherence at different levels in the target text. Then ＂the readers of a translated text can understand and appreciate it in essentially the same manner as the readers of the original do＂.
