《还乡》是哈代小说中表现乡土精神力量的顶峰。从文学人类学角度关照,原型类型的深层抵牾是小说主人公悲剧命运的根源,“荒原”的人格化象征与作家的命运观同构,大量的民俗描写对表现作家主旨意义非凡。

In this paper, the author, taking a literary anthropological perspective, aims to re - read Thomas Hardy＇s The Return of the Native （1878） ,which best depicts the spiritual power of the county among Hardy＇s novels. The author argues that the protagonists＇ tragic fate is rooted in the deep conflict between the prototypes,the personified symbol of the wilderness can be identified with the novelist＇s view of human life,and depictions of folklore in the novel play a significant role in reflecting the writer＇s literary motif.
