本文主要以上世纪初日本“大谷光瑞探险队”在我国新疆所获的雕塑品为重点,并兼及国外其它机构所收藏的同类作品,对西域各种雕塑的材料、制作工艺、题材内容,尤其是艺术风格的特质作了较为详尽的论述。

In this article, the author discussed in detail on the material, technique, content and characteristic of style of sculpture unearthed from remains in the Western Region（Xinjiang）, focused on Otani＇s collection kept in Japan and simultaneously on some in other institution overseas.
