Appreciate the Painted Horse Figurine Unearthed in Turfan

吐鲁番地区地处丝绸之路东段要冲,是唐王朝经营西域的重要门户,在吐鲁番高昌故城阿斯塔那古墓群中,先后发掘出相当数量的彩绘泥塑俑,是极其珍贵的文物和艺术品。在新疆维吾尔自治区博物馆馆藏文物中,有几件吐鲁番阿斯塔那唐墓出土的彩绘泥塑骏马俑,表现出独特的艺术风格与地域特色,是研究古代雕塑艺术的珍贵资料。

The Turfan area, located in the eastern part which was the communication hub of the Silk Road. It was the major gateway to governing the Western Regions by Tang Dynasty. There are numerous painted figurines found at Astan ancient tombs from Gao- chang ancient city in Turfan. There are the extremely precious relies and work of art among the collection of the Xinjiang Regional Museum, and there have some pieces of the painted figurines unearthed at Astan ancient tombs in Turfan showing the unique art style and regional characteristics. It was the precious materials to research the ancient sculpture arts.
