试论语法化理论在对比语言学中的应用——以英汉语篇中替代类型之对比研究为例

On the Application of Grammaticalization Theories in Contrastive Linguistics——A Contrastive Study of the Substitution Types in English and Chinese Texts

本文借用功能语法理论和语料分析来对比英汉语篇中的替代类型,以此论证语法化理论对于对比语言学的重要意义。通过对比可以发现,替代作为一种衔接手段并非为英语所独有,汉语语篇中也有替代手段。在评估替代词时,语法化是一个重要标准。由此可见,对比语言学应当采用综合的研究方法,其中包括话语分析、语法化理论以及语料库语言学等其他理论支持。

This thesis intends to demonstrate the vital importance of grammaticalization theories for contrastive linguistics by a contrastive study of different types of substitution in Chinese and English texts in the light of functional grammar and corpus analysis. It is found that substitution is not a method of cohesion monopolized by English. There are also ways of substitution in Chinese texts. Grammaticalization serves as a crucial criterion in judging and assessing these substitution words. In conclusion, the study of contrastive linguistics should be carried out with an integrated approach including discourse analysis, grammaticalization theories, and corpus linguistics, etc.
