城市群是当代社会经济高度集聚，同时各大中城市之间发生着紧密联系的一种城市化现象。全球化、集约化与信息化是影响城市化区域城市群形成的最重要因素。特别是经济发达地区，全球化使现代各个城市发展过程和模式与世界经济的发展息息相关。同时，全球经济一体化也加深了全球城市之间、区域之间和国家之间的交流与合作，不断增加的人流和物流使世界主要交通枢纽不断发展。全球化使超大城市的紧密圈、通勤圈不断扩大，也使城市群的范围与辐射力不断加强，城市化的空间形式更加中心化与集聚化。

Urban agglomeration is a large system of cities within which cities with designated yet related functions are joined together to form an organic whole.Urban agglomeration as a basic concept refers to a system of assembled cities in a district that has a considerable number of cities with different nature,hierarchy and scale.Relying on the natural conditions,medernized infrastructure network and highly developed information network,and with one or two super or extra large cities as the economic nuclei,the cities develop linkages and constitute a relatively comprehensive assembled urban system together.
