How to translate the Chinese idioms into English

汉语和英语是两种历史悠久的语言,因而都有很丰富的习语。但在习语的相互翻译中会出现很多问题,本文旨在就汉译英时可能出现的问题试作一番探索,针对不同原文,我们可以使用的翻译方法有:一、直译;二、意译;三、套译;四、节译等等。

English and Chinese are both languages with long history, there are a lot of idioms in them; but we may have many problems while translating. As for the different original languages, this essay is to analyses the possible problems we will meet when we translate the Chinese idioms into English ones. We can employ many ways for translating, such as literary translating; free translation, borrowing the existing English idioms, partially translation so on.
