The following paper introduces the necessity of teaching reform of civil engineering specialty in newly-built colleges, and discusses the teaching of civil engineering construction course in local colleges from enhancing the engineering ability of professional teacher, adjusting teaching contents, paying attention to the guidance of curriculum design, and improving the method of practices, in order to meet the developing demands of modem higher education.
