摘要
公示语是常见于公共场所为公众提供信息服务的一种特殊文体。笔者认为语用等效是适用于公示语翻译的原则,根据此原则,分析了武汉市部分公示语翻译中的语用失误现象,并提出公示语翻译中的语用策略。
Public signs are directions or warnings provided for the public on guideposts or billboards in public places. In this article,the authors argue that the principle of pragmatic equivalent effect can be followed in the translation of public signs. In light of this principle, they have analyzed the pragmatic failure in the C-E translation of some public signs in Wuhan,a major city located in central China,and put forward pragmatic strategies for translating public signs.
