On the basis of setting forth the social features and functions of lion dance, this paper expounds the significance of developing lion dance in universities, and points out that developing lion dance in universities is beneficial to such aspects as the further reform of physical education in universities, the motivation of students＇ interest in sports, as well as the promotion of sports- for - all in universities and the employment of university students.
