摘要
China has proven a lucrative market for western fast food chains. Yet the business is only in its infancy here. New franchising regulations in China coming into force in May will make it easier for foreign fast food operators to open branches and roll out the franchising model, which has proven a sure path for fasttrack growth in the US and Europe. The new law, set to come into effect on May I, replaces the existing Commercial Franchise Measures, enacted in 2005, and honors China's promise to liberalize its franchising sector in line with WTO commitments.
