Cultural Discrepancy and Pragmatic Faults

语言是文化的组成部分。语言是交际的工具,不了解交际对象的文化背景,忽视文化差异,盲目套用本族语的表达,忽视语言在不同语境下的含义以及词语所包孕的不同文化渊源,都会产生语用失误。语用失误必将带来双方交流的不畅甚至失败。因此不断提高英汉文化差异的敏感性与适应性,将语言与文化的涉猎同步进行,减少语用失误,从而真正领会语言的奥妙与奇特。

Language is a component of culture. So,bring unfamiliar with the cultural background of communication partners, ignoring cultural differences, blind using of their own language, paying little attention to language in different contexts, will produce a pragmatic fault. Pragmatic faults between conversation sides will bring the language ineffective or even failure. So people should continuously improve the sensitivity and adaptability to cultural discrepancy between English and Chinese, and study language and culture simultaneously, reducing the use of language errors, so that they can really understand the uniqueness and mystery of language.
