The on-line precolumn derivatization of amino acid with o-phthalatdehyde in the injector loop was a simple and feasible method. No specialized hardware is needed. The major advantage is that the good resolution can be obtained without extra dispersion of peak by using a basic HPLC instrument. Due to the derivatizative reaction occures in the injector loop. The reaction is able to control the precise time, so that reproducibilities are better.
