摘要
吴大猷先生是国际著名物理学家、科学教育家，也是中国物理学界的前辈科学家之一，从２０年代末开始，在长期的科学教育工作中，他在原子物理、分子结构及其光谱、核物理、等离子体及其动力学理论、天文理论、散射理论及相对论等十分广阔的研究领域里取得了巨大的成就，培养了大批独当一面的科学精英，为科学教育大业作出了卓越的贡献，赢得了广泛的国际赞誉。该文从九个方面叙述了吴先生的主要业绩和他在科学教育实践中逐渐形成的深邃的科学教育观。
Mr. Wu Dayou, a physicist of world renown and an educationist in science, is one of the senior scientists in China. Since the late twenties, he has made outstanding achievements in the wide realm of scientific research, such as atomic and nuclear physics, molecular structure and spectrum, plasma dynamics, astronomical theory,scattering theory and relativity, and trained a large number of leaders of science, all of which contribute greatly to science and scientific education and win for him worldwide honor. This paper discusses Wu's outstanding achievements and the profound concept of scientific education formed gradually by him in practice.
