数字视频编码技术是数字信息传输、存储、播放等环节的前提和基础,数字视频编码标准是信息领域的基础性标准,成为近20年来整个数字视频领域国际竞争的热点。概述了国际国内视频编码标准发展的过程,侧重介绍了中国制定的具有自主知识产权的视频标准AVS(Audio Video coding Standard)标准。
