论五四知识分子从“医国”到“医人”的精神嬗变历程

On the Spiritual Evolution of the May 4th Intellectuals from “Treating a Country” to “Treating People”

五四知识分子在“医国”思想的支配下走出了国门,他们在初期大多数都没有选择学习文学。然而,随着异国体验的加深和自身精神的发展,他们开始转向文学,从“医国”走向了“医人”。在文学革命之后,许多知识分子直接走上文学之路正是“医人”思想影响的结果。梳理五四留学生的这一精神历程,并分析五四精神的本质特征,认为它是五四知识分子受西医思维的影响而对中国采取的一种破坏性的治疗。

Urged by the thought of ＂treating the country＂, the May 4th intellectuals went abroad and most of them did not choose literature at the beginning, however, with more experiences abroad and development of their spirit, they began to divert to literature, changing from ＂treating the country＂ to ＂treating the people＂. By listing the spiritual course of May 4th returned students and analyzing the innate character of the May 4th spirit, this article makes the conclusion that it＇s a kind of destructive treatment by the May 4th intellectuals under the influence of the thinking of Western medicine.
