The iron and steel industry has already entered into the stage of development, namely a stage of speedily readjustment of the composition of the product mix and improvement of competence since it has gone through an era of development embodied mainly by quantity expansion. In China one of the most important subjects for the steel plate sector is how to readjust the composition of the product mix, dominate the home market and replace the imported products. The present paper analyzes the steel plate market and puts forward measures to reduce the risk of competition in the market and produce ＂double high＂ products.
