Well known as one of the three high tech fibers in the world, the high strength polyethylene （HS-PE） fiber is widely used for military and defense purpose, as well as civilian products such as high performance sporting goods, special reinforcement materials, manmade joints and ligamenta. Since 1996, the Dacheng company had committed in the R＆D of HS-PE fibers and realized the industrialization in 1999,which was a break-through technology in China. The company produced 1,500 tons of HS-PE fibers and composites, ranking the third globally and sold to more than forty countries and regions including Europe, North America, Mid East and South Africa. A detailed introduction of the R＆D of HS-PE fibers and composites by Dacheng company was presented.
