Procalcitonin and strategy of antibacterial treatment in respiratory department

降钙素（procalcitonin，PCT）在感染性疾病中的诊断价值近几年在国内报道很多，但其血清动力学变化对抗生素的干预作用在国内还没有研究。国外研究表明在呼吸系统感染时，动态检测PCT水平对抗生素的使用有明确的指导作用，可以减少不必要的抗生素暴露时间，缩短疗程，防止耐药。短程抗菌治疗策略（short course antibiotic therapy）是关于优化抗生素使用的最新方案，PCT水平与短程抗菌治疗有没有共同的切入点，PCT能否帮助我们判断最佳使用和停用抗生素的时间，需要进一步研究。

The diagnostic value of procalcitonin（PCT） in infectious diseases was reported frequently in recent years at home,however, there were few studies about the intervention effect of the serum kinetics change of the procalcitonin against antibiotic. Foreign reports have shown that the dynamic determination PCT could instruct antibiotic use, decrease unnecessary exposure time, shorten the course of treatment, and prevent the drug fast in respiratory apparatus infection. Short course antibiotic therapy is the latest protocol about optimizing the using antibiotic. It awaits further exploration on whether there is common cut-in between the level of PCT or not and short course antibiotic therapy and the detection of PCT is helpful to judge the time of applying or stop using the antibiotic or not.
