Transcendanding and Intertranscending of Orientalism——Compare the Studies on Chinese Thought and Culture by Joseph Levenson and Yu-Yingshi

西方汉学对中国思想文化的研究有着类似于赛义德使用的“东方主义”的“汉学主义”的特征,这种特征有时表现得非常隐蔽。将列文森和余英时这一中一西两位学者对中国思想文化研究进行比较,发现“汉学主义”对他们学术研究的影响,及他们自身对所处“汉学主义”环境的“内在超越”和“超越”。

The research on Chinese culture of Sinology has some kind of feature which should be called Sinolism similar to Orientalism observed by Edward W. Sid. This feature sometimes is very obscure. This essay will compare the studies on Chinese thought and culture by Joseph Levenson and Yu Yingshi, one Chinese scholar and one western scholar, figuring out the influence of Sinolism on their studies and their reaction to the Sonolism environment, intertranscending and transcending.
