Japan, whose economy had been founded on and fueled by its sophisticated financial system, suffered from a financial Waterloo in 1990s. This crisis is severe and long enough even when compared with the stories in the modern and contemporary world financial history. As argued in this paper, there exist necessities behind the ostensible contingency, the financial crises is a revealed outcome of the latent conflicts in Japanese politics, economy, history and culture.
