唐僧“江流儿”身世的故事是一个复杂的文学现象。“江流儿”的原型应来自于异生神话“漂流婴儿”伊尹。小说《西游记》中唐僧的“江流儿”身世,是吴承恩在古代神话、唐宋小说、宋元戏曲及民间传说的相关因素基础上潜心创造的一个文学故事,是百回本《西游记》的一个有机组成部分。
