五四启蒙文学思潮的形成基于五四时期启蒙的社会思潮、中国文学的教化传统以及自近代以来输入的西方文化。五四时期启蒙的社会思潮提供了根本动力,中国文学的教化传统提供了思维方式,西方文化提供了思想武器和学习的范例。正是这三者的合力,促成了五四启蒙文学思潮的兴起。

The formation of the May 4th literature enlightenment thought is mainly due to the influence of three forces-the social enlightenment trend of the May 4th periods; the enlightenment tradition of traditional Chinese literature as well as the input of western culture in modern China, with the first force providing it with the basic power, the second with the thinking mode and the third with the thought weapon and the study model. It was the combination of the abovementioned three forces that initiated the rise of the enlightenment thought of the May 4th literature.
