佛本之争与佛道之争的比较

Contrast between Two Arguments: Buddhism against Benjiao and Buddhism against Taoism

道教是汉民族土生土长的宗教,本教是青藏高原上的原始宗教,二者在其历史过程中都受到了佛教的重大影响。在佛教传入之时,道本二教同佛教产生了激烈的碰撞,二者也存在着一些差异。道教从佛教身上汲取营养发展为与儒佛并立的成熟大教,本教最终被佛教所湮灭,表现出了文化交流的两种不同结果。

Taoism is the indigenous religion of Han nationality while Benjiao is the primitive religion in Qingzang plateau. Both have been greatly influenced by Buddhism in history. In early time when Buddhism was spread into China, both Benjiao and Taoism clashed vehemently with it, and they two themselves have some differences as well. By absorbing the nutrition from the Buddhism, Taoism develops into a mature major religion but Benjiao was overwhelmed by Buddhism eventfully. This shows two absolutely different results of cultural communication.
