摘要
在世界范围内，许多国家和地区由于受到市场准人及竞争压力的驱动，而建立了众多的区域性经济合作组织。相比较而言，东亚经济一体化的进程要明显落后很多，甚至在1977年东盟《优先贸易协议》签订之前，东亚地区还不存在正式的区域贸易协议（RTAs）。直到20世纪90年代末，东亚各国才开始积极地追求区域主义。然而，在此期间，东亚各国所进行的加强彼此之间紧密经济联系的尝试却并不十分成功。
In comparison with the development of other regional economic cooperative organization, East Asia was conspicuously Late in jumping onto the regionalism bandwagon, and the course of development was flexuose and laggardly. Surveying the history of the regional cooperation and integration, the efforts to build institutional frameworks in the East Asia have so far developed in three distinct stages： early attempts, primacy of APEC and formation of ASEAN＋3 and proliferation of bilateral FTAs. although there are still many difficulties and challenges, the regional cooperation is irreversible in East Asia. And the development course of prophase contributed experiences and laid the groundwork for the next period, therefore, the region will ultimately make progress towards the ＂East Asia community＂ vision.
