The historical blocks have times characteristics and history value, but they face many problems and contradictions when they are renewed. In order to protect its historical culture, this text proposes to renew the historical blocks by using the measure of functional replacement, and analyses the measure＇ s meaning and benefits. Also the article analyses the rationality, efficiency and perspectives of the functional replacement through some examples.
