晁错在吸取秦朝戍边失败的经验教训基础上,从西汉初期的政治、经济、军事、人民生活等方面通盘考虑,提出了较完整的移民实边的屯垦戍边思想。该理论中的民屯、军屯等思想对西汉后历朝历代屯垦戍边都有深远的影响。

On the basis of learning lessons and experiences from Qin Dynasty,and from an all-round consideration of politics, economy, military affairs and people＇s life etc, Chao Cuo put forwards a comparatively perfect theory of stationing troops and reclaiming lands. His mass stationing and army stationing played a far-reaching influence upon various dynasties after Western Han in stationing troops and opening up land and safeguarding the border regions.
