The achievements relating to a 150 kt/a GC type axial/radial low-pressure methanol synthesis reactor developed by Nanjing Guochang Chemical Technology Company, Ltd. have passed appraisal. The experts attending the appraisal meeting unanimously admitted that this 150 kt/a methanol synthesis reactor applies an innovative structure composed of axial/ radial multilayered adiabatic bed/interlayer cold agitation and indirect heat exchange that embody the application of the GC type nozzles to form an radial flow cold agitation device (the rhombic cold agitation distributor array) in the axial bed and the use of the GC type fish-scale plate radial distributors in the radial bed. Its unique composite structure of insertion type interlayer heat exchanger has simplified the internal structure of synthesis reactor, which can effectively deal with the removal of reaction heat and the control over the bed temperature.
