摘要
新世纪哈佛大学本科课程改革中的普通教育强调对哈佛大学普通教育传统的继承,以分配要求替代目前的核心课程,强调各系的课程在普通教育中的作用,突出普通教育课程的跨学科特点,坚持作为普通教育基础的课程要求,其目的在于为应对21世纪的挑战培养高素质的人才。
Harvard new general education emphasizes inheriting tradition of Harvard general education, recommends that current Core Curriculum be replaced by a distribution requirement, stresses the essential role of departments in a distributed general education, accentuates feature of integrative and synoptic courses in general education, insists on groundwork upon which the edifice of general education will rest. Its aim is to provide future graduates with personal resources necessary to face the challenges of the twenty-first century.
