In September 2006, Baogang Group decided to invest RMB ￥ 30 million to build a new Nd metal production line in Baotou Rewin Rare Earth Metal Materials Co., Ltd- one of the subsidiary companies of Baotou Research Institute of Rare Earths. The project is under construction. The first phase is expected to put into production in April this year, and the second phase will be started subsequently. When the project is completed, Baogang Group will have a production capacity of 5,000 tons of Nd metal per year, ranking the first in China.
