Research on intercultural consciousness of college English teachers

通过对目前英语教师跨文化意识的现状分析,探讨了新时期我国高校英语教师跨文化意识培养的必要性和可行性,提出了培养跨文化意识的策略,即英语教师要不断地更新教育观念以建立多元文化视域,从而培养跨文化的敏感性和适应性;要重视本土文化,培养批判性文化思维以提高中西方文化素养,从而全方位体悟跨文化交际。

According to the fact of college English teachers＇ intercultural consciousness, the necessities, possibilities and strategies of training college English teachers＇ intercultural competence are discussed. It is pointed out that college English teachers should constantly refresh educational concept to cultivate intercultural views and foster the sensibility and adaptability of intercultural communication. In the meantime, college English teachers also should emphasize native culture and improve qualities of Chinese and western cultures to fully experience intercultural communication.
