论语际翻译中文化意象的传递

On the Translation of Cultural Images

文化是人类在社会历史发展过程中所创造的物质财富和精神财富的总和,而语言和文化密不可分。这决定了翻译和文化的密切关系。由于各民族所处的生态、物质、社会及宗教等环境不同,因此,各语言所载负的文化信息很难完全一致,后者会造成文化在翻译过程中信息的损失和歪曲,也就是文化意象的错位问题。列举了文化意象错位的几种形式,分析了引起文化意象错位的种种原因,最后提出怎样对待文化意象的传递问题及补救措施。

Culture means the combination of material wealth and spiritual civilization created by the mankind during the process of social development. Language has close relation to culture, hence translation is relevant to culture. As various ecology, material, social system and religion among the different nationalities leads to different cultural information loaded by every language, cultural information will be lost and twisted in translation, which is called distorted translation of cultural images. This paper illustrates several forms and causes of cultural images distorted. It is concluded on the treatment and remedial measures of translation of cultural images.
