摘要 本文介绍分布式多媒体数据库管理系统——ＤＭ２．它基于作者提出的层次－关系数据模型，采用客户－服务器体系结构、多线索调度等一系列当代先进的软件技术，实现了对复杂对象的常规信息和多媒体信息的分布式的一体化处理，并可与流行的ＯＲＡＣＬＥ等ＤＢＭＳ兼容。 This paper introduces DM2,a distributed multimedia database management system Based on the hierarchy relational data model,it uses many advanced software techniques including client/server architecture and multi thread scheduling policy It can integrally process common data and multimedia information for complex object and is compatible with ORACLE.It provides a good software development environment for multimedia MIS
