化疗药物对女性癌症患者的卵巢功能造成损害，可引起卵巢功能早衰。损伤发生率及机制尚需进一步的研究，促性腺激素释放激素激动剂（GnRHa）似能够保护化疗时的卵巢功能，卵巢组织移植保护卵巢功能技术上可行，但尚需解决一些问题。

Chemotherapy drugs may impair ovarian function which can result in premature ovarian failure. The incidence and mechanisms of ovarian damage are difficult to assess, and further studies are needed. Gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist （GnRHa） could preserve ovarian function. There are some problems about ovarian tissue transplantation to solve though it is technically feasible.
