摘要
语言经济学告诉我们,语言具有经济价值。在经济全球化的今天,我国商品进入国际市场必须具有一个响亮、漂亮、易于接受的英文商标名。这隐含英语语言的经济价值,由英文这种语言的经济价值所决定。因为英文商标承载巨大的经济价值,设计商标时需充分考虑英文商标词的响亮度、修辞手段、字母拟状和会意功能、受众的接受心理、跨文化传播的得体性和美学等要素。
Economics of language tells us that language is of economic value. It is essential for a Chinese commodity to be named a tinging, pleasant and easily acceptable English trade mark in order to enter foreign markets. This implies that the economic value of English language is determined by the economic value of the language itself. While designing, the enormous economic value which English trade marks carrying requires us to take full account of aesthetics, rhetoric devices, spelling and association of letters, mentality of addressees and appropriateness in cross-culture communication.
