Various diseases, such as traumatic injuries, infection, tumor, osteonecrosis, congenital abnormalities, are often associated with clinical bone defect. Therefore, injectable biomaterials for osteogenesis have gained more and more attention. At present, many injectable biomaterials including bone cements, natural derived materials and synthetic polymers have been developed. This review discusses research progress on poly (propylene fumarate) as injectable biomaterial for repairing bone defects.
