Jian'an Tea Culture and Tea Ceremony during Song Dynasty

中国是茶叶之乡,也是茶文化的发源地,而福建又是中国最著名的茶产地,在宋代福建的“建安”茶叶广为种植,斗茶盛行。建安斗茶代表着中国宋代茶文化的最高水平,并通过各种途径向日本传播,对日本茶道的草创有着极大的贡献。

China is the home of the tea and also the source of tea culture while Fujian is the most famous tea producing area in China. During Song dynasty, Jian＇an tea of Fujian was popularly planted and tea competition was in vogue. Tea competition in Jian＇an stands for the highest level of the tea culture during Song dynasty and spread into Japan in various ways and thus made great contributions to the establishment of the Japanese tea ceremony.
