英汉两种语言在句法结构方面有很大的差异,其中最为基础性和普遍性的差异为:英语句子重形和、汉语句子重意和,英语是静态型语言、汉语是动态型语言,英语句法结构象树状、汉语句法结构象竹状。翻译时,充分考虑两种语言各自的特点,掌握两种语言形式之间各自的转换规律,用符合译语的表达方式进行翻译,使译文能够通顺、流畅、自然。

There are distinct differences between English and Chinese in the aspect of sentence structures. The basic and universal differences are that English is hypotactic, static and tree - like while Chinese is paratactic, dynamic and bamboo - like. So in translation, under careful consideration of the respective characteristics of Chinese and English, the respective transforming laws in the sentence structures should he grasped and habitual rules of the target language should be followed to make smooth and natural translation.
