译场,既是翻译佛教经典之处,也是我国古代佛经典籍集体合作的翻译组织,其发展经历了发端、成熟和严密三个时期。译场的功能不断充实和完善,其管理也越来越规范。译场的设立提高了佛教经典的翻译质量,保证了译文的准确性,译经的计划性、系统性和科学性,促进了译经事业的发展。无论是译场本身的组织结构和翻译程序,还是译场所开创的集体合作的翻译形式,都对后世的翻译事业产生了深远影响。

Buddhist scriptures translating center was not only a place where Buddhist scriptures were translated, but also an organization which was founded for the benefit of the cooperative translation. Buddhist scriptures translating center of ancient China experienced three stages, it became more and more efficient and prosperous until it declined in North Song Dynasty. With the development of Buddhist scriptures translating center, its functions were more and more perfect and its management were more and more strict. The foundation of translating center guaranteed the correct, proper, systematic and scientific translation of Buddhist scriptures, influenced and inspired our modem translation theoretical construction and translation practice.
