马克思在《关于费尔巴哈的提纲》中,明确提出了“新唯物主义”概念,这里的新唯物主义用什么称谓来称呼,长期以来,国内外哲学界分歧很大,争议颇多。在马克思主义哲学形成和发展过程中,它的创始人和后继者,曾经赋予新唯物主义不同的名称,例如,“辩证唯物主义”、“辩证唯物主义和历史唯物主义”、狭义的“历史唯物主义”、“实践哲学”、“实践唯物主义”等等。而其中真正能够体现马克思哲学本质特征的是以物质实践为基础的“实践唯物主义”。

In Marx＇s Outline in Relating to ills of Bach, heclearly put forward a concept of ＂new materialism＂. But there exist a lot of divergence and disputes on the naming of the new concept. Different names, ranging from ＂dialectical materialism＂ ,＂dialectical and historical materialism＂, ＂the narrow sense historical materialism＂, ＂practice philosophy＂, and ＂practice materialis＂, etc. were given by its founder and his successors. Among these names, only ＂practice materialism＂ takes material practice as its basis and embodies in it the intrinsic characteristics of Marxism philosophy.
