The article introduces Л.Е. Черкасскнй and his translation and study on Chinese modern poems completely and systematically . He was born in a Russian doctor family. After finishing high school education, he first studied medical science in the army and then studied chinese in the institute of military foreign languages. He is interested in the translation and study on chinese modern poems. In the early days of 1960s, he had acqquired the vice doctor＇ degree in the Chinese Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences and in the early days of 1970s he had acquired the doctor＇degree in the Orient Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences. His academic fruits of the translation and study on chinese modern poems was very rich . He may be rated as an authoritative sinologist in the study on chiese modern poems in the world.
