摘要
上海南站开创了新一代火车站运营的起点。它采用了从中国功能性火车站建筑风格中演化出来的新建筑风格，将火车和公路运输枢纽变成丰富多彩的生活中心。上海南站的设计既体现了中国政府的期望，又结合了AREP在现代交通中公共步行区构建方面的知识。
Shanghai South Railway Station marks a major new departure in the operation of latest-generation railway stations. It has invented a new architectural style dedved from the functional model of Chinese railway stations by revolutionizing the link between the train and road transport modes and by transforming the intermodal transport hub into a full-blown lifestyle centre. The project design, the outcome of the 3-stage competition, reflects the combination of the expectations of the Chinese authorities and French know-how concerning the composition of the public pedestrian areas that are central to transport amenities in today＇s cities.
